If mobile reception is giving you the blues in your home or workplace, femtocells may just be the answer, and they’re perhaps not as far off as you might think.
Mobile reception at your house not the best? Constantly going into the tea room to get a strong enough signal to make calls from your office? If you’re spending much of your life trying to escape your own personal blackspot, it may be time to look into getting a femtocell.
They’re not prevalent in Australia yet, but overseas telcos like Vodafone in Europe, and AT&T in the United States, are already offering customers commercially available femtocells that fill in blackspots by putting a tiny mobile phone base station in the palm of your hand.
