Current Programme Summary

As we move towards the Christmas holiday break, please use the calendar (as indicated above) to get the latest information, including the programme for 2009.

Details for Family History course have now been confirmed and it will be held on Tuesdays from 9:30-11:30am commencing 27th January. There will be two 4-week segments with a break of 3 weeks between them so that students can do their own research before coming back for the second 4-week segment, commencing 17th March. Cost: $60, payable at the first session.
There was a strong response for this course and it is now booked out, but there is a waiting list in the hope that we may be able to arrange another course later in 2009.

There will be a short series of Website Design Workshops on Tuesdays from 9:30-11:30am on the 6th, 13th and 20th January.

The 2-week MYOB evening course presented has now been confirmed. It will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:30-8:30pm, commencing 12 January and finishing on 23 January. The cost will be $60, payable at the first session.

Our current best estimate is that Wednesday TAFE Outreach classes won't resume until Wednesday, 18 February. Based on this assumption, there will be sessions from 9:30 to 11:30am on Wednesdays as follows:

28th Jan: Burning CDs/DVDs
4th Feb: Managing folders and files
11th Feb: Backing up files

There will be a new Beginners course commencing on Monday, 2nd February. If there is sufficient interest, there will also be an Intermediate class from 12noon to 2pm. This depends on the numbers - please do your best to pass on the word to people you know who might be interested!

The 5-week Beginners Digital Photography course from 7-9pm on Wednesdays, that commenced 29 October got off to a good start with more attending than was originally anticipated and was extended until 10 December. There will be another series of classes commencing on 28th January.

MYOB Course

The evening course in Bookkeeping/MYOB earlier this year proved to be very popular and was booked out. This photo shows the class in progress, with a couple of students on laptops out-of-picture:

The teacher was Sue Hansen from Yarramalong, a practicing accountant who also teaches at TAFE, and we very much appreciate her support. We are pleased that Sue will be returning to run another course in January 2009.

An example of the work assisted by the Photo Editing Workshop is the recovery of an old family photograph, which now looks good printed and framed at home, even better than the image shown here:

Services to the community, such as photo copying and Internet access, are available at class session times, which are as outlined above.

If you have special requirements, please contact us and we will endeavour to help.

Westy’s Place

A haven that was a great help to the Club while the Old Fire Shed was being refurbished in early 2006 and where we enjoyed a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere for the weekly Q&A sessions until January 2007.

We are very grateful to Ken and Margaret for the help and support they provided.

Westy's Place

A reminder of where we enjoyed many happy sessions.

If you have Broadband, have a look here - you can see a map, a satellite image and a hybrid (combined) view of where Westy's Place is located.
