
The
old Mangrove Mountain Fire Shed looking much the same externally
after the refurbishment of the interior. Due to Heritage restrictions,
the external appearance had to be maintained.
Apart from Q & A and MAC Tutorials which continue throughout, the current programme of classes finishes on Thursday, 11th April for the School Holidays.
The new programme for classes commences on Monday, 29th Apri.l
2012 ASCCA Competitions
The big news is that two of our members were successful in the 2012 Australian Seniors Computer Clubs Association's competitions. The winning entries were announced at the ASCCA Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 13th November, 2012.
Deirdre Mason won FIRST PRIZE in Creative Writing for her entry with the title 'The Box - Mother's Urn' which you can read here, a sample being "I was getting some very strange looks from passers by and aware that what I was doing was illegal, I decided to call it a day."

About Us
The Mangrove Mountain Seniors Computer Club
was formed under the auspices of the Community Technology Centre at
Mangrove Mountain Incorporated t/as CTC@MangroveMountain on 25th November
2004.
This was extended to include all
members of the community, regardless of age, now recognised more
formally by the name change to Mangrove Mountain Computer Club.
The aim of the Club is to provide a relaxed
atmosphere in which members of the local community who are
interested can learn about computers and what they can do for them
at their own pace.
The MMCC has access
to the equipment and facilities that were funded jointly by the Commonwealth
Government and the NSW State Government and which are administered
by the Community Technology Centre at Mangrove Mountain Incorporated. There are 15 workstations including an iMac running both Mac and Windows operating systems.
Cost:
The once-off Joining Fee for new members is $10 and the annual subscription is $10 for the full July to June financial year, reduced to $5 for January-June. The fee per class session is $6.
