ASCCA Annual Competitions

2007 to 2009

Nick Mason won First Place in the Club Website Competitions in 2007 and 2008 and Third Place in 2009.

2012

Deirdre Mason won First Place in the Creative Writing Competition for her
story "The Box - Mother's Urn" which you can read here.

Patricia Smith won a Highly Commended for her photograph of Juvenile Pacific White-Necked Heron in the Animals category.

2013

Deirdre Mason won Grand Champion Writer in the Creative Writing Competition, which included:

  • Second Place: Poem about a Place or Location "The Sick Bed" which you can read here.
  • Second Place: Prose "The Hat" which you can read here.
  • Second Place: Prose "Too Good to Use" which you can read here.

Patricia Smith won a Third Place in the Animals section of the Photography Competition "Blue Skimmer Dragonfly in Flight":

Terry pisani won a Third Place in the Still Images Story section of the Video Competion, "A Trip with My Family":

2014

Deirdre Mason won Highly Commended for two stories in the Creative Writing Competition:

  • "LaLa Land" which you can read here.
  • "Travel Writer" which you can read here.

She also submitted an unusual treatment of an image in the Creative Photography Extreme Manipulation category with the title "I fish, therefore I lie!":

Deirdre Mason won Secend Place - Grand Champion Writer, a First Place in the Creative Writing Competitiom and other awards in the Creative Writing Competition.
